** G'nar chuckles at the ex-hunter's naivete. "Davoth's ideas aren't always the best...but I can't see anything wrong with this one." He muses, straightening up. "Congratulations, Magmus. You can now join the ranks of the busy." Doing chores, that is. Davoth, after one satisfied rumble, ignores the new candidate completely - there's a /green/ here, and Nediath to boot. Yum. He croons a greeting to the female.
** Valdair blinks, quite surprised by the sudden question handed out to the hunter himself. Gaze flickers between G'nar and Magmus, a smile tugging at his lips as he hears the response. "Well then..Magmus..welcome to candidacy.."
** Nediath enjoys dumping her rider into possibly embarrassing situations
-- it's good for him. Or so she claims. T'yari just thinks she does it
for kicks and private amusement. Upon landing, the green shakes herself
in warning; if Yari doesn't dismount, she'll do her best to throw him off.
So it's reluctantly and hastily that the greenrider dismounts, throwing
an annoyed look at Nediath before giving his faint greetings to those present:
"Hi." Nediath, meanwhile, responds in kind to Davoth with her own tart
warble.
Deftly, you lower yourself to Nediath's bent foreleg, pausing a moment
as your lifemate crouches to allow you easier access to the ground.
Magmus chuckles just abit, trying to stifle which would have been a great roar of rich brassy laughter. "Ahh, Chores--they sound so delightful I suppose. Thank you Valdair, thank you kindly." The ex-hunter states, realizing something with a furrowed brow, "Hmm, I still have a tunnel snake to trap G'nar, you wouldn't mind to much if I did that tonight as well? Only fitting, gettin' the /big one/ before I don't get a chance to until after hatching." Jade and golden eyes follow their way along with the searching brown, noticing the green descend to the bowl's floor. A slight wave is given to the greenrider, not terribally familiar with the man. It's only propper though.
G'nar gives T'yari a friendly smile before nodding to Magmus. "Indeed, consider it your chore for the day if you like." Normally, the new candidate would have had the day off to get acclimated..but if he /wants/ to work. "It's part of a candidates duties, after all, to help keep the Weyr clear of such. Do you know where the barracks are, or do you need me to show you? You'll want to move your stuff. Hey, T'yari."
Valdair nods slightly, glancing towards G'nar for a moment, a nod given in greeting to T'yari. "I could show him.." Head cants to the side slightly.
T'yari isn't familiar because he makes a point not to be. Yari's the very personification of reclusiveness and shyness -- a fact that his lifemate doesn't approve of. So she nudges at the young man, muzzle poking at his back and propelling him forward a few steps, something that earns her another grumpy look. And oh, look: life just gets better and better. It's G'nar. The greenrider swallows his initial desire to bolt off, Nediath or no, and instead offers a rather wary smile as he repeats, "Hi."
Magmus nods eagerly in regards to the brownrider's words, not quite sure himself where he'll be sleeping now, "That'd be great if you could. Or, Valdair for that matter. Last time I checked, the cavern's were looking rather crowded..." The candidate states, looking at his sleeve--that'll have to be removed soon enough, as soon as he settles in. He has work to do, and 'snakes to catch.
Davoth rumbles sexily at Nediath, moving a bit closer to her, humans basically ignored for now. G'nar steps away from his lifemate, smiling at Valdair "Good man....if you'd like, I'll leave you the task of showing him the way. And perhaps once you clean up a bit, you can help him with that tunnel snake trapping." is suggested, nodding to Magmus in dismissal "If you have questions, feel free to ask" is noted as a parting shot, before he turns to T'yari, his own smile somewhat sexy, matching his dragon's mood. "'Yari...what brings you out of hiding?"
Serriena comes over from the small oasis of the waterfall's pool.
Serriena has arrived.
She's dripping wet...but hey! She's clean! Serriena's hair is dark blond from her venture into the water and she's dripping everywhere water trailing from her clothes as she walks. She gives a wave to her tormentors..those males known as Magmus and G'nar before heading off towards the bowl. She is female hear her roar! *Achoo* Although a whiff of that feline stuff Magmus has suddenly reaches her now that the muck isn't covering her. *ACHOO* ACHOO* Oh how attractive.
Valdair nods slightly, turning to look at Magmus again. "Alright, I'll show you the way.. Maybe you could fill me in a little more on exactly what we'll be doing?" Eyes catch sight of Serri, faint smile crossing the candidate's face. "Better now, Serriena?"
Nediath likes flirting -- thrives on it -- even if her lifemate doesn't. So it's with a coy, inviting flick of her tail and a echo of Davoth's rumble that she responds, earning another dosage of T'yari's irritability. While he's used to the green's mannerisms, he'd obviously prefer that she limited it to Any Dragon But Davoth. Glancing back towards G'nar, the greenrider's wariness escalates, and he keeps his reply simple, short, and to the point. "Nediath."
Yep, Magmus is quite confused now. A whirlwind to do, and in such little time to do it in. "Ayep, ready when you are Vald...oh, hey there Serri! Like my hide?" The hunter, well candidate now, teases his friend while wrapping the sienna arm around his neck and over Deacon's little tail. "Oh, Serri, I have to go with Valdair. I have to find a cot somewhere and all those good things before I can get a chance to tackle Big Momma. Hmm, I'll see you soon then?" The ex-hunter querries of his friend, stepping in file behind his fellow candidate Valdair.
G'nar chuckles, moving closer to the greenrider, unmindful of this shortness of response. "Still mad at me too, hmm?" He shakes his head, eyes running over T'yari appreciatively "You look well..."
Davoth sidles closer, nudging Nediath's shoulder before his tail flicks out to twine with hers...if she'll let him. Another sultry croon bursts forth, low and seductive....hubba hubba!
Serriena nods to Valdair and then blinks at Magmus.. "Do!" she shakes her head, "Don't pud him in da Nordern Cavern" Her nose is closing up from being around feline fur and she says this to G'nar. That fur cannot come with Magmus or it will make her an unhealthy candidate!
Valdair looks at Serri sympathetically, not exactly knowing what to do about the fur problem. Eyes flicker back towards Magmus. "Hm..."
T'yari, will, of course, run off if G'nar gets much closer. Or attempt to. Nediath, she who delights in torturing her rider, might not let him. "Who says I'm mad?" Arms are crossed defensively over the greenrider's chest, and after stealing another glance back at Nediath -- don't you dare! -- he only states, "Uh huh." Nediath dares, of course, if only to spite Yari; she can always play hard to get at another time. T'yari peers towards Serriena, a welcome distraction, and inquires, "Just what happened to you?"
G'nar is distracted by Serriena's nasal tones, though he offers an explanation for the greenrider "She had to bathe, 'Yari...seems she was rolling about in the muck in the stables earlier." And stank to high heaven.
Valdair heads off toward the southern end of the bowl.
"I was NOT!" Serriena can finally stick her tongue out at G'nar which she does. "The boys in my chore group..and unfortunately there's nearly ten of them... decided I should be initiated since I was the only girl. And so they played some gags on me to induct me into their club." She wrinkles her nose. "They're sweet...just weird."
T'yari wrinkles his nose. "Ew." No, mucking was not his favorite part of his own candidacy. He turns attention back towards Serriena, eyebrows edging upwards at her contradiction. "That," he states, "is disgusting. Completely disgusting."
Davoth continues to snuggle up to the green, oblivious of her rider's discomfiture, crooning in that smarmy way of his that he thinks just makes the ladies quiver with lust for him.
G'nar grins, now close enough to T'yari to be standing right next to him, though his gaze is on Serriena. "So you weren't willingly rolling about in it.." He corrects, shrugging. "But that doesn't suggest the reason for your sudden stuffiness. Need to see the healer's about a cold?" The greenrider is nudged. "And I think you are still mad at me. Either that or embarrassed."
Magmus has left.
Eventually, after Katheia is somewhat settled at her new place of residence the council rooms, Kath does indeed make it back up to the northern bowl. In her hands are the clothes she had brought for Serri, "Serri?" She calls out as she approaches, "I figured I'd bring the clothes back to you. Those other clothes should be burned, personally. I'm sure they'll never smell right again." Comments the newly turned candidate, her head bobbing in greeting to the others.
Nediath isn't exactly quivering -- she's tolerating. She can handle smarminess only if it makes T'yari uncomfortable, which it happens to be accomplishing quite nicely. Inconspiciously, the greenrider takes a small step away from Davoth's rider, seizing the opportunity when G'nar's attention is upon Serriena. Now, if only Serri'd distract G'nar further, Yari could make his escape. The nudging comes at an inopportune time, though, and the greenrider pauses in his edging away to look over and up at G'nar, capturing his lower lip between his teeth as he attempts to hold the mentioned embarrassment or anger in. Noncommittal, he only offers, "Uh huh. Sure. Right. Whatever you say."
"Thandkss," Serriena grins at Katheia. She looks highly relieved by Magmus's leaving and turns to the brownrider. "I'm sduffy becaude Magmus had a fe-fe-fe-..*WAHCHOO*" She can't even say the word and so she holds up her hands and bares her teeth pretending to be the feline fur Magmus was wearing.
G'nar rolls his eyes at T'yari, then frowns at Serriena. "Allergic? Well, I'll make sure to tell Magmus he's to leave that fur elsewhere, then." he agrees, nodding to Katheia before turning back to the greenrider, even as Davoth croons to Nediath again. "'Yari, you really need to get over this. It's been more than long enough." is announced, with just a hint of exasperation.
Zaedrial heads over from the southern end of the bowl.
Katheia sidles a little closer to Serri as she tries to figure out what the other girl is mimicking, "Oh! A feline." At the sneeze though Katheia decides to take one step away from Serri. Her gaze flickers over to the two riders, her expression curious as she silently wonders what the greenrider has to get over.
T'yari does his best /not/ to scowl at G'nar, although his not-happiness shows through in the greenrider's tone. "I /am/ over it. Over. Over it." Can he help it that G'nar's borrowed smarminess makes his slightly -- or more than slightly -- uncomfortable? "Hmph."
Zaedrial strides out from the southern bowl, a blanket draped over one shoulder and a small basket in his hand. Seeing the various people in the area he pauses, "Hi." He greets cheerfully, resuming his course into the bowl.
G'nar sighs, shaking his head at T'yari and then turning away, having
no remorse at forcing Davoth to give up his flirtation, though the brown
grumbles about it moodily - G'nar mounts, but not before turning his head
to stare hard at the greenrider. "Then show it and stop being such a coward."
He notes, smooth pleasure turning to blunt irritation now. "I've got to
go...somewhere else. Candidates, if you have nothing to do, I sent Magmus
to catch that tunnel snake he was going on about. Perhaps you should help
him."
G'nar steps up to Davoth's bent foreleg as the crouches low with
a gently whirling eyes. G'nar swings up easily and settles between two
neckridges.
"Uh huh" Serriena nods and agrees with Katheia. "I'm allergic to all..." she doesn't say the word, even that makes her sneeze and she just makes the face again. "It saved my life one time." Now that Magmus is gone, her eyes have stopped watering and she's getting less stuffy.
Katheia just sort of stares for a few minutes, unsure of what just happened between the riders. With a shrug she turns and nods to Zaedrial, "Good evening to you as well. I think I'll go and get a bite to eat, maybe you should come along Serri and get some tea? Sometimes the heat and steam from the tea helps loosen the air passages up." Already Katheia has started toward the southern bowl and eventually to the caverns.
T'yari resists the urge to stick out his tongue at G'nar and instead
smiles mock-sweetly up at the brownrider as he makes to depart. "Well --
I'll do my best," he replies somewhat sarcastically. "You have fun, now."
Then T'yari makes his escape, traipsing across the bowl and leaving Nediath
behind; she'll survive.
